Blueberries #1

Look for local blueberries in your market and buy as many pints as you can carry. Blueberries are the #1 antioxidant fruit with the potential benefits of neutralizing the harmful “free radicals” that have been shown to lead to cancer and other age-related diseases.

Other studies and research on the benefits of adding blueberries to our diet include lowering cholesterol, preventing urinary tract infections, slows aging, improves eyesight, memory, coordination and balance. This list is only the beginning of what we are learning about this super food.

Let’s not forget that blueberries are delicious to eat and can be prepared in many different ways (not to mention gluten-free). So, buy them while they are at their peek and eat as many as you can. Remember to freeze lots of bags of fresh berries to have all winter long.
